Chez Norris ...

... just what you've been looking for!

This is the view from the front. You've been past the Chateau Chaulieu and just passed Bernard's farm (Nos Voisins du Sud) and seen our cottage across the little valley. Further on behind us you catch a glimpse of our Northern Neighbours (Nos Voisins du Nord). Together with them our little area is called Le Bisson. The French often don't name their houses, just groups of houses. We haven't thought of anything better than ChezNorris yet. Can you? Carry on round and there is our drive.

You're at the front door, but before we go in, just turn and look down the garden.
See, the ground dips past the stream and pond - in fact there's another stream at the bottom of our little valley.

The View South

Up the other side is Bernard's farm. It's his cows that keep the grass down for us, and he usually keeps the cows out whilst visitors are there with an fence just beyond the stream. Behind you is ...well, I haven't understood his French yet (Breton patois), but it's his flock of ducks that comes waddling into our pond.

The gite is a traditional longére or 'long house', several hundred years old. All the rooms in a line, with the animals in the end one. Not now, though, of course.

Of course all the rooms are bigger than this - these are just pictures, and aren't even to scale. Main rooms, in fact, are about 3 to 4 metres square. The upstairs - well, do we need it? When (if) it is done there'll be two more gorgeous, south facing bedrooms up there. Or perhaps one and a mezzanine. Or perhaps a bowling alley...or perhaps you'll buy it and do it your way? Everything is simple but, we hope, very comfortable. It is very important to us that, within reason, everything is at least as good as you expect. You MUST tell us if it isn't! It is a condition of booking!

Please see Comments (both good and bad!)

Let me take you round

The first door is the Cave. Just outside this door is the switch for the outside lights. You can switch them off again from inside the front door. Useful if you arrive in the dark.

Now in through the front door. You are in the kitchen. There's room for someone to help, but otherwise everything is within reach. There's the usual stuff and a ceramic sink - plus as you'll see, all floors are tiled and easy to keep clean. There's also a phone - if you phone home lots, please tell me.

Bathrooms

Through the kitchen are the bathrooms - one with bath, one with shower.

Twin Bedroom

Past the bathrooms is the twin room. This also has a cupboard for essentials.

On the left as you come in is the dining room. In here are two long pews and a large pine table. On the right as you came in is the lounge with a wood burner set into the chimney. Two sofas (one a sofa bed). There's also an extensive collection of leaflets, maps, books, books and maps specific to WW2 and the phone book. Also the hifi, TV and DVD player (bring some DVDs!).

Through the lounge and you reach, with its fabulous antique bed and armoire (wardrobe) the
